Patrick Swanson is a digital journalist with ten years of experience at the intersection of news and tech.
Currently, Patrick is a John S. Knight fellow at Stanford University, exploring the impact of AI on the information ecosystem, especially on media, journalism and elections.
He is building AI tools for journalists, developing strategies for news organizations, working on ideas for new media business models, and researching AI policy and ethics.
From 2013 to 2023, Patrick was based in Vienna and worked for 'Zeit im Bild', the most trusted and important news brand in Austria. In this role, he founded and led the social media team at Austria's largest newsroom.
